Privacy notice
Effective November 6, 2026. This notice explains how Clearer Choice handles information used to deliver its online awareness program.
Information we collect
- Account details such as your legal name, email address, password hash, and registration date.
- Optional referral details such as a referring authority and case or file number.
- Learning records including active module time, assessment scores, written assignments, completion status, and certificate history.
- Security and service information such as IP address, request timing, browser information, and operational logs.
- Payment status and transaction identifiers from our payment provider. We do not store full payment-card numbers.
Why we use it
We use this information to create and secure accounts, deliver the course, document participation, verify completion requirements, issue and email certificates, provide support, prevent abuse, meet legal obligations, and improve the service.
Public certificate verification
An active verification result displays a privacy-limited version of the learner name, course title, verified hours, issue date, certificate ID, and status. Written assignments, email addresses, payment information, and case or file numbers are not displayed publicly.
Service providers
We may use hosting, email, payment, security, backup, and analytics providers. They receive only the information needed to provide their service and are subject to contractual or legal safeguards. Optional analytics loads only after consent.
Retention and security
We retain learning and certificate records for as long as needed to verify completion, resolve disputes, and meet legal or accounting obligations. We use access controls, encrypted transport, password hashing, restricted backups, and logging; no system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You may request access to or correction of your personal information, withdraw optional consent, or ask about deletion where retention is not legally or operationally required. Identity verification may be required before we act on a request.

If a concern is not resolved, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the applicable provincial privacy authority.
