Awareness education with clear evidence and clear limits
Clearer Choice was built for Canadian adults who need structured drug and alcohol awareness education and a credible record of the work they completed.
Why the courses exist
People are often told to complete “an awareness course” with a particular number of hours. Clearer Choice makes the standard visible for every option: 4, 6, 8, or 12 recorded hours, one-hour learning modules, private written reflection, a prevention plan, an 80% assessment score, and a certificate that can be checked online.
What makes the record useful
The platform records active participation rather than issuing a certificate after a few clicks. Each certificate includes the exact program and verified hours, plus a unique identifier and QR verifier. Public verification is privacy-limited: it confirms the program, hours, date, masked learner name, and active status without exposing written work, referral information, or payment data.
One account, durable records
Learners can pause and return without losing recorded progress. Completed certificates remain available in the learner portal, while the public verifier continues to show whether each individual certificate is active. Course records are kept separate so a later enrolment never overwrites an earlier completion.
Continuing and upgrading
A learner may keep multiple completed courses and certificates in one account. When moving to a longer Clearer Choice program, completed shared modules carry forward and the earlier course price is credited; the learner still completes the additional modules, new written work, and the longer assessment.
What Clearer Choice is not
Clearer Choice is independent education. It is not diagnosis, treatment, counselling, emergency care, legal advice, professional accreditation, or universal court/government approval. Only the authority that set a requirement can decide whether to accept a particular course and duration.
Safety and sources
The courses use Canadian public-health references and separate general education from individual medical advice. Review the current safety scope, emergency contacts, and source list.
